Whether right here in Napa, the surrounding counties or farther afield in California, our local team has fought hundreds of fires and have been first responders to accidents, medical emergencies and other weather-related incidents. Below are just a few!
Picket Fire - August 21, 2025
Our most recent big fire event starting just east of Calistog, it burned a total of 6,820 acres over 17 days, 5 structures destroyed.
Eaton Fire - January 7, 2025
Joining other Strike Teams, the Rutherford Volunteer Fire Fighters decamped to Los Angeles to help fight the Eaton Fire that burned over 14,000 acres, destroyed more than 9,400 structures and damaged another 1000+. Twenty residents lost their lives and 9 firefighters were injured. The fire lasted for 24 days.
Glass Fire - Sept. 27, 2020
Active for 23 days, the Glass Fire came on the heels of the Hennessey Fire. It burned over 67,000 acres, destroyed 1528 structures and damaged another 282.
Hennessey Fire/LNU Complex - August 17, 2020
Started by a lightning strike, this local fire grew into one of the largest in California's history burning over 363,000 acres over 5 counties.
